About the speaker: 

Sven Rusticus is the Founder and CEO of Seaweedland, a Dutch startup developing scalable land-based seaweed cultivation systems for sustainable food production. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an MBA in General Management and Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management. Previously, he founded companies including digital marketing agency Icemedia and global printing platform HappyPrinting.

Using controlled raceway systems, the company produces clean, consistently high-quality seaweed that can be harvested year-round. Sven will present how cultivating seaweed on land is opening up new opportunities for seaweed entrepreneurs. He will introduce the technology that makes low-cost, land-based seaweed cultivation possible and explain how Asian companies can adopt this approach to produce contamination-free seaweed year-round.

He will also explain the licensing and franchising model developed by Seaweedland, offered to companies interested in land-based seaweed cultivation. In addition, Sven will highlight the markets where Seaweedland is already successfully selling its seaweed.
