

About the speaker:
Juhyun Andy Yi is the Head of the ASC-MSC Seaweed Program, leading the joint efforts between the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) to advance sustainable and responsible seaweed production worldwide. He earned his M.S., during which his master’s thesis focused on the seedling process in laver (Porphyra) aquaculture, and later completed Ph.D. coursework in the same field. With over a decade of experience in sustainable seafood certification, aquaculture policy, and industry engagement, Andy has worked extensively across Asia to enhance the credibility, accessibility, and market value of certified seaweed. He has also served as a trainer and invited speaker at multiple international events, including the World Bank’s Seaweed Global Summit 2025.
