Company info:

PT Jaringan Sumber Daya (JaSuDa), founded in 2008 in Indonesia, specializes in sustainable aquaculture, seaweed value chains, and marine innovation. The organization provides strategic guidance, technical protocols, and capacity-building to empower smallholder farmers and SMEs, ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, and international standards. Partnering with IFC, World Bank, WWF, ILO, UNIDO, WorldFish, and leading universities such as Wageningen, Queensland, and UGM, JaSuDa bridges grassroots empowerment with global sustainability goals. Its vision is to position Asia’s coastal communities as key drivers of climate resilience, inclusive value chains, and transformative market practices in the global seaweed sector.
Presentation:
This topic is deeply aligned with the work and values of the speaker. Smallholder farmers in Asia serve as the foundation of the seaweed sector; however, their contributions frequently go unrecognized in global sustainability discussions. This session will emphasize their vital role in enhancing climate resilience, establishing inclusive value chains, and driving market transformation. By promoting the perspectives of farmers, the organization aims to link the innovations from coastal communities with global sustainability goals, thus establishing a pathway toward a more equitable and resilient marine future.
