Location and dates of the inaugural Seagriculture World conference will be announced shortly.

DLG Benelux, the organizer of the renowned Seagriculture conferences, has announced the merger of Seagriculture USA and Seagriculture Asia-Pacific into a single, global conference called Seagriculture World.

This strategic move reflects the organization’s aim to simplify the seaweed industry’s event calendar, strengthen global collaboration, and support innovation around the world.  By merging two popular conferences into a single international event, DLG Benelux can expand into new regions and respond more quickly to emerging market trends. This new approach also reflects industry feedback, emphasizing the need for more streamlined and impactful events.

Seagriculture World will take place every year in a different country. The conference will retain its successful format:

  • One day of site visits to see local seaweed operations and projects.

  • Two days of conference sessions covering different parts of the seaweed industry. In addition, a trade show, poster presentations, and networking opportunities to help people connect and collaborate.

Why participate in the Seagriculture conferences?

The Seagriculture conferences have grown into one of the leading global platforms for the seaweed industry, attracting over 500 stakeholders annually.

Seaweed cultivation is showing promise in terms of growth, however challenges in regulations, cost, and market viability could affect the pace of this growth in the future. The Seagriculture conferences focus on addressing those challenges in the seaweed industry, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices, innovation, research, and regulatory adaptability for long-term success.

Here's the feedback from our participants

Adrian Macleod, Scottish Seaweed Industry Assocation (SSIA), United Kingdom

It was a great conference. I have the start to solving a lot of difference problems we have been working on. I had the chance to meet with many people in my wider network and discuss joint projects.

Toby Dewhurst, Kelson Marine, USA

Seagriculture was a great time to connect with colleagues both old and new.

Antoinette Kazbar, Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands

What I mostly got from this conference is the passion of the community towards the seaweed sector. This was reflected by the good choice of speakers and content of presentations. The Seagriculture Conference gathered most stakeholders, farmers and scientists. All presentations gathered, showed that the sector will be successful, everyone is committed and working together... What make it better is the perfect organization of the event, very professional, a lot of commitment and passion as well. All in all, this shown passion gave me and my students inspiration and push to do our best as scientists to make this sector successful.

Nicholas Mangini, SWAMC / KISS, USA

Great networking on a international level, great representation from around the world.

Beinta Mar, Ocean Rainforest, Denmark

Wonderful conference, great networking and a most spectacular venue.

Michael Brooker, FutureFeed Pty Ltd, Australia

A great opportunity for knowledge development and networking.
